Albert restrung this
family heirloom of
natural sea pearls that
dates back to the
1940's. Albert is always
careful to respect the
integrity of the original
piece by replacing each
pearl in its original
position, which is
especially critical for a
piece with pearls that
graduate in size such as
this one.
This particular piece was purchased in the Holy Land, and it is very dear to the
owner. She actually spent years before she found someone she could trust to effect
the restoration. The original had been strung with linen, which had begun to
deteriorate. Albert chose to restring the piece with nylon, because the hundreds of
gold beads could easily cut the silk he usually uses. The original pearls had also not
been graduated, but after consulting the client, Albert also chose to graduate them.
The clasp had been knotted with the linen string, but Albert added gold French wire
to join the ends to give the piece a seamless, professional look.
